RECAP: Iran targets U.S. assets in region; Kurdish militias weigh ground operation in Iran as Israel expands strikes in Tehran and southern Lebanon
These are the latest updates on the war with Iran:
■ Iranian Kurdish militias along the Iran-Iraq border have consulted with the United States about a potential ground operation against Iranian security forces in western Iran, sources told Reuters. The groups are reportedly discussing possible CIA assistance in arming them.
■ The IDF said it struck Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon and key regime and missile infrastructure in Iran, including sites in central Tehran. The military said about 300 Iranian missile launchers have been disabled since the start of the war.
■ The IDF issued evacuation orders for dozens of villages in southern Lebanon, telling residents to leave immediately. It also warned residents to leave a building and its surrounding area in Beirut's suburbs, citing nearby Hezbollah facilities.
■ Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said any leader appointed by Iran who continues efforts to advance what he called plans to destroy Israel will be an "unequivocal" target for assassination.
■ Iranian strikes on U.S. assets in the region have continued, a ballistic missile struck Al-Udeid base in Qatar, two drones targeted a U.S. base in Erbil, Iraq and a suspected Iranian drone hit the CIA station in Riyadh, according to several sources.
