RECAP: Iran targets U.S. assets in region; Kurdish militias weigh ground operation in Iran as Israel expands strikes in Tehran and southern Lebanon

These are the latest updates on the war with Iran:

■ Iranian Kurdish militias along the Iran-Iraq border have consulted with the United States about a potential ground operation against Iranian security forces in western Iran, sources told Reuters. The groups are reportedly discussing possible CIA assistance in arming them.

■ The IDF said it struck Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon and key regime and missile infrastructure in Iran, including sites in central Tehran. The military said about 300 Iranian missile launchers have been disabled since the start of the war.

■ The IDF issued evacuation orders for dozens of villages in southern Lebanon, telling residents to leave immediately. It also warned residents to leave a building and its surrounding area in Beirut's suburbs, citing nearby Hezbollah facilities.

■ Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said any leader appointed by Iran who continues efforts to advance what he called plans to destroy Israel will be an "unequivocal" target for assassination.

Iranian strikes on U.S. assets in the region have continued, a ballistic missile struck Al-Udeid base in Qatar, two drones targeted a U.S. base in Erbil, Iraq and a suspected Iranian drone hit the CIA station in Riyadh, according to several sources.

IDF announces launch of tenth wave of strikes in Tehran

The IDF said the air force launched a broad wave of attacks in Tehran targeting Iranian regime infrastructure, marking the tenth round of strikes on the city. A loud explosion was reported in the eastern part of the capital.

The IDF's strikes on Tuesday targeted lower-ranked Hezbollah commanders in Lebanon and strategic decision-making and production centers in Iran, indicating that Israel is expanding and escalating its multi-front offensive.

At the beginning of the war on Saturday, the IDF focused on disrupting Tehran's missile launch capabilities, regime infrastructure and assassinating Iranian leadership.

In the heart of Tehran, the Israel Air Force attacked security buildings within the regime's leadership compound, including the Presidential Office, the Supreme National Security Council building and the meeting place of the most senior security forum, the IDF said. This is one of the most secure areas in the country, a symbol of the regime's sovereignty and political-security center of gravity.

According to the army, the strike there indicates intelligence superiority and aerial freedom of action that the Air Force has managed to maintain deep inside Iran. Additionally, ballistic missile production sites and launchers were attacked in Tehran and Isfahan.

According to the IDF, about 300 missile launchers in Iran have been disabled in attacks since the beginning of the war, and the Air Force has dropped about 4,000 munitions in the country.

Israeli Defense Minister says any leader appointed by the Iranian regime is a target

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said any leader appointed by Iran who continues efforts to advance what he called plans to destroy Israel will be an "unequivocal" target for assassination.

Katz said he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have instructed the IDF to prepare to "use all means" as part of the ongoing military operation, adding Israel will continue working with the U.S. to weaken regime capabilities.
