Operational Context & Approach

Since April 2025, and again since October 2025, Tawila has faced two main waves of displacement driven by renewed conflict, forcing many families into multiple cycles of flight. In this month's document, the October displacement wave is reflected, in an effort to provide a better understanding of the displacement waves. The displaced population is primarily concentrated in four locations (Camps A, B, C, and D), located 5 to 10 km from the town centre. Despite intensive humanitarian efforts, these sites remain critically underserved due to high population density and deteriorating infrastructure. The NRC site assessment tracks sectoral gaps and provides monthly updates on evolving needs. These findings are vital for informing emergency responses and ensuring resources are mobilized to address the most urgent gaps.
