In the Donetsk region, 13,600 civilians remain in the active combat zone.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced during an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the Division for Operational Duty, Communications, Alerting, and Public Information at the Department of Civil Protection, Conscription, and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

“There are still 13,600 people in the communities classified as being within the active combat zone,” Petlin said, specifying that there are 20 such communities.

According to him, a total of about 130,000 civilians remain in the government-controlled territory of the Donetsk region, including slightly more than 7,000 children.

The Donetsk Regional Military Administration representative also reported that since the beginning of July, 1,700 people, including about 330 children, have been evacuated from the region.

In total, nearly 1.4 million people, including more than 210,800 children, have been evacuated from their permanent places of residence in the government-controlled territory of the Donetsk region since February 2022.

As previously reported, the mandatory evacuation of the civilian population in the Donetsk region has been in effect since August 2, 2022.
