The Gaza Health Ministry demanded the immediate release of two ambulance drivers detained by the Israeli armed militias, Haaretz reported.
The drivers were among seven Palestinian Red Crescent crew members stopped and detained on Gaza's main Salah al-Din highway while carrying out medical duties. The militants also detained civilians, local reports said.
Five of the crew members were later released, the ministry added.
Haaretz has reported in April that certain armed groups in Gaza, operating with Israeli backing, have expanded their public presence in an effort to establish themselves as an alternative to Hamas governance.
