The Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) oil refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region of the Russian Federation, was attacked by unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel Astra reported this, citing local residents.
The region's governor, Alexander Drozdenko, confirmed that there was damage in an industrial zone in the Kirishi district as a result of the UAV attack. According to him, a total of 21 drones were allegedly shot down in the region, and there were no casualties.
Kirishinefteorgsintez (KINEF) is the largest oil refinery in the region and one of the largest in Russia. It produces gasoline, diesel, kerosene, fuel oil, and petrochemicals.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that 125 drones were allegedly shot down during the night of March 25–26, according to BBC Russian Service.
The defense ministry of the aggressor state stated that UAVs were shot down in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vologda, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, and Yaroslavl regions, in the area of Moscow, as well as over the annexed Crimea and the Black Sea.
As Ukrinform reported, two of Russia's largest oil terminals, the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk, have stopped shipping oil and petroleum products due to massive Ukrainian drone attacks.
