As of March 31 morning, users in five regions are without power due to new Russian attacks on the power grid. Electricity consumption is increasing due to cloudy weather.
According to Ukrinform, the NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
“The enemy continues to attack facilities of the Ukrainian power grid. As a result of Russian strikes, there are new power outages as of this morning in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Poltava regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever safety conditions currently permit,” the statement reads.
It is noted that as of 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, electricity consumption is 2.7% higher than the previous day’s level. The increase in consumption is due to cloudy weather across nearly all of Ukraine and rain in several regions. This leads to low efficiency of residential solar power plants.
Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to use electricity sparingly.
"Today, all regions need to conserve energy during the evening hours—from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during this time and do not turn on several such appliances at the same time," Ukrenergo notes.
As reported, no power outages are scheduled for Tuesday, March 31.
