The IDF destroyed Hezbollah rocket launchers loaded and aimed towards Israel in three separate locations in southern Lebanon, the military announced on Saturday.

The launchers were located in the areas of Deir El Zahrani, Reman, and Al-Saamiya in southern Lebanon, north of the Forward Defense Line established by the IDF.

"These launchers posed an immediate threat to IDF soldiers and to Israeli civilians," the military added.

Earlier on Friday, the military ordered the evacuation of the Lebanese town of Deir Ammar, stating that Hezbollah was launching projectiles towards Israel and IDF positions from the villages.

Northern residents angered with Trump's extension of ceasefire

The attacks came amid US President Donald Trump's announcement that the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was extended, something that sparked frustration for many residents in northern Israel.

In Metula, a border town that recently marked 130 years since its establishment, council head David Azulai oversaw the raising of US flags, not as a gesture of alliance but as a protest symbol.

Metula's Head of Council, David Azulai, said he believes the Israeli government has surrendered too much autonomy and military leverage to the United States, describing the policy as a return to Israel’s approach of restraint that existed before October 7.

“It is sad that the Israeli government and its leader are losing our independence as an independent, sovereign, and democratic state,” Azulai told Ynet.
