IDF soldiers shot at and successfully killed a suspected terrorist near Tulkarm on Monday, the IDF announced.
The suspected terrorist was reportedly accelerating his vehicle towards the soldiers in a way that posed an immediate threat to them.
No IDF injuries were reported.
West Bank sees multiple violent incidents in past few months
Tensions have been high in the West Bank in recent months, with multiple acts of violence and terrorism taking place against both local Palestinians and Israelis.
In one week, Israeli civilians committed over 20 attacks against Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank, Israeli media reported. At least 11 Palestinians were injured, and dozens of vehicles and buildings were set on fire.
Last week, the IDF announced it was diverting combat units from Israel's northern front with Lebanon, where forces are engaged with Hezbollah, to the West Bank to help curb the violence.
