During a visit to the External Radiation Control Laboratory (ECRL) at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the International Atomic Energy Agency discovered damage to meteorological monitoring equipment.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the agency’s page on the social media platform X.
It is noted that the IAEA team visited the ECRL laboratory on Tuesday, May 5, one day after the plant reported a drone attack.
“Team observed damage to some of the lab’s meteorological monitoring equipment, which is no longer operational,” the post states.
It also notes that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has reiterated his call for maximum military restraint around all nuclear facilities to avoid safety risks.
As reported by Ukrinform, on May 3, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) received a report from Russian forces controlling the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant that a drone had struck the External Radiation Control Laboratory.
